I’ve been looking at the Window late afternoon until midnight of Tuesday just to see what a Blizzard really looks like.  Took photos and videos here and there. Until hubby noticed me and teased me that I look like a little kid excited to see falling snow. I feel embarrassed a little but then hubby nicely told me that it’s OK to take photos outside so I’ll get decent shots. When I was outside, it’s like I’m seeing a mixture of powder of many kinds that is falling and dancing in the air. The wind is gustier than any ordinary snowy day. Enough for the chitchat just google if you want to know more about Blizzards.

Captured 2:30 AM this morning. I’m just wearing “pambahay” very thin shirt. My puffy jacket is warm enough to just get a peek outside.

If not because of my promise to my daughter, I won’t go there and if only I knew that it would be that crazy. I’d definitely not go without hubby. When we finally saw Mickey and Minnie going towards our spot, I let Yuna (my 7-yr-old girl) sit on my shoulders for about an hour so she can see the float’s coming. Crazy I know!  :pick:  Mickey and Minnie started pointing to light up the trees they passed and people started screaming out of happiness. My eldest was so happy while my youngest was still on the stroller sleeping. Although Freya, when she finally woke up, she was still able to see other Disney characters like Goofy, Donald and Daisy. Yuna saw Mickey and Minie, Phineas and Ferb and other mascots. By the way, we didn’t finish the parade although I’m not sure if the parade ended already since we started to get out from the huge crowd. All I can say about our first experience for this big event of Chicago is it was fun and super crazy! The important thing is my kids enjoyed the parade and that makes me happy too. Definitely not our last to witness the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival of Chicago. Next time, I’ll make sure to find a great spot for us. :love:

Now where do I begin with their activities? Kids had lots of activities and I am happy about them though it was very exhausting in my part. I’m gonna start it by dates. Warning: Loads of photos :pick:

Oct 29 – Friday: Yuna started her Halloween activities at their school before the weekend. They had a little Halloween party inside their classroom. Children were sharing their own treats with one another. Of course, I took lots of photos and Yuna got lots of candies :hihi:

Oct 30 – Saturday: Halloween at Girl Scout meeting. They read different books with stories about Halloween stuff. They also painted pumpkins. Pumpkin painting was the most fun part. Yuna painted her very 1st pumpkin activity. Sure it was messy but she had lots of fun. She made a pink bow and put it on the top of her pumpkin. Her pumpkin looks like a vampire. I think that was really her idea to make a vampire pumpkin. Freya painted her pumpkin too with my help, of course. By the way, Freya isn’t really part of the Girl Scout. I took her with me cos no ones gonna watch over her :shy2:

Oct 31 – Sunday Morning: Around 10:30 in the morning we went to a Halloween party at my friend’s work. It’s just 2 blocks away from our home so we accepted the invitation. Kids had fun too. The party had some games for the kids and lots of dancing and of course they got plenty of very good quality treats. That was awesome! I, myself enjoyed taking photos and video of them :grin1:

Oct 31 – Sunday Afternoon: Late afternoon we waited for Daddy to come home from his work and went trick-o-treating around the neighborhood. We walked a couple of blocks and then went home. We can no longer stand the cold that’s why we went home early. Good thing I let them use the small bucket from the McDonald’s happy meal. Their buckets became full right away. Am pretty sure if they brought the big pumpkin buckets they wouldn’t go home until the buckets are full :dizzy: Not all the houses gave an effort on decorating their front yard but few of them did a great job! That’s my fave part anticipating the Halloween decorations. I love looking at each houses with fascinating decorations. We live in a building at the corner of the main street so we don’t have a front yard to decorate :shy2:

I had no costume so I just put makeup and made it messy just to look like a dead person. Hubby had no costume too. According to him he doesn’t feel the spirit of Halloween this year That’s it guys hope you had a wonderful Halloween as well. Can’t wait to see your Halloween and Undas blog entries. I’ll upload all the photos in my facebook account since that’s where I upload most of my photos now :grin1:

Now this is the story, I’m not a fan of toddlers pooping on their diapers as soon as they learn to walk. It grosses me out when a toddler poops on their diaper :dizzy:. It’s messy and smelly maybe because they’re not little baby anymore. Toddlers have stronger smelling poops and we all know that and I don’t like it that much. So every time I see my toddler’s about-to-POOP-FACE, I grab her and tell her to hold it a little while until we reach her potty. We were always like that every time she wants to poop. So glad that her poop is not watery so she has no problem holding it for a little bit. I let her sit on her potty and when she’s done she will scream “DONE!”. I know while reading this entry, you are thinking that I have a lot of patient but no, not really. It’s just that I don’t like  toddlers’ poops scattered all over their butts and diapers like I said, it’s gross. The stage of that kind of potty train lasted until my toddler turned two. Believe it or not, there’s only one time she pooped on her diaper :hihi:

When she turned exactly 2 yrs old she began telling me that she peed on her diaper, her exact word is “wee! wee!”. That time I don’t know yet if she’s telling me that she wants to pee or she already did. I’m more sure that she wants to use her potty when she feels like she’s gonna poop. By the way, she started using pull-ups before she turned two. From there, I keep telling her to say “wee wee” if you want to pee and say “UU” if you want to poop. Also, when at home I let her go around the house without diaper. Yes, she had lots of accidents and I keep scrubbing the carpet. I did that because I wanna know how many times exactly she goes pee pee every day so that I’ll know when she needs to go and if she’s ready to retire from using diapers. Also to let them feel the awkward feeling of pee flowing on their legs. I guess I would say that your toddler is ready to retire from wearing diaper if he pee once in the morning, once in the afternoon and in the evening but that also depends on how much liquid they take every now and then. I also exaggerate the words EEWW! GROSS! if she accidentally pee on her undies just to give the thought that it’s better and it’s clean if she use the potty. I also remember there were months that she does not want to poop on her potty anymore because she was scared to push her poop out. She was experiencing constipation that time. Since then I was having a hard time to make her use the potty again. That only changed when we watched the Potty Movie with Hannah that I borrowed from the local library. My toddler really likes it especially the song “Bye-bye, Diapers!”. I would really recommend the “Potty Book and DVD for girls with Hannah” and this one for boys to all the mommies out there. A week after watching that I was so surprised that she went to the bathroom and removed her diaper by herself. Since then, she’s not wearing diaper anymore even when she goes to bed at night. She’s now expert in using the bathroom. From her potty to sanitizing her hands. She even prepares the potty herself when I forget to put it back together after cleaning. Now, she’s really a big girl. I’m so proud of her. Oh by the way, she still wears diaper every time we go out in case of emergency but most of the time her diaper is still clean and dry when we get back home

Short list of what I did to potty train my toddler and you’ll notice there’s no candy for treats:

• Fancy potty trainers would make your toddlers enjoy the potty training a lot more.
• Letting her sit on her potty constantly especially if she wants to poop.
• Praise them all the time with exaggeration after using the potty, they love it.
• Sing a potty song.
• Watch “The Potty Movie with Hannah for girls” and “The Potty Movie with Henry” for boys. I will guarantee you 100% that your kids are going to love it. You can borrow a copy at your local library.
• Let them go around the house without wearing diaper. Let them pee on the floor. You know why? so they will know how to control their pee.
• Let them know that peeing and pooping on their diaper and undies is GROSS.
• Before going to bed let your toddler pee first so he won’t pee on bed, it works.
• Last one, be serious on potty training your toddler. Don’t let them play too much with their potty cos they will end up just playing without actually using the potty.

Watch these videos I made and witness how happy the kids were during Yuna’s birthday bash. I was having fun while making these videos. As you know, I like doing this kind of stuff. It feels like it is part of me ever since and it will be forever. I made these videos without using any automated theme that’s why it took me forever

My eldest is now 7 years old. We gave her a belated birthday bash at Pump It Up Chicago last August 29th. The day before her birthday party, I can see it in her eyes that she was stoked. She won’t stop saying “Mom, I’m so excited for tomorrow”. She even got up earlier than us. She took a bath and donned her party outfit by herself. It always makes me happy to see my kids smiling. I always have this in mind that I’m going to make my kids’s childhood a memorable one with lots of fun that they can share with their friends when they become adult or to share with their own kids how happy they were. It is also important to me to record every memories I have with my own family so when hubby and I grow old we have something to look back. I just wish that Youtube is still online by the time we reach a very old age, hahaha! After the party, my eldest was very thankful. Until now, she’s still grateful. When she prays at night she doesn’t forget to say thank you to God for having a wonderful birthday bash. Yuna is so sweet, very nice and a grateful young lady.

I’ve prepared her party 3 months before the month of August. I think I’ve searched all the corner of the world wide web just to look for ideas and to see the easiest preparation ever with, of course, a reasonable price. I’m so glad that I’ve stumbled upon Pump It Up Chicago‘s website. I’m so lucky to see that they have great deals during the summer that is not so stressful to our dear wallet LOL. They even provide two staff with us inside their arena to assist the kids. I guess I can say that this is the most stress-free birthday preparation I’ve ever plan. I didn’t fret on the day of the party itself. We actually experienced what their service is all about. What I like the most about this place is your party is totally private.

Ever since we bought keyboards for our eldest, she can’t stop playing it anymore. When she gets up in the morning she goes straight to her keyboard and play random songs LOL. Same goes before going to bed and in the middle of the day. She’s a fast learner. Right now, she’s practicing the melody of Fur Elise and Pachelbel Canon in D. Daddy is the one whose teaching her all the time. They can’t get anything from me. I don’t have any knowledge in playing instruments . We are planning to send her to a piano class again. I’m just looking for reasonable rates cos some of the piano class I’ve searched online is so expensive. By the way, her summer piano class was free. We only spend money for the keyboard cos she needed it while taking the class. We also bought the keyboard as a birthday gift for her. She’s gonna be 7 yrs old this coming Tuesday. Hooray! We love you very much Yuna!

Months ago after we moved to this apartment. I painted our closet door into a black color and made it a freedom wall for the kids. They actually like it a lot. Very helpful as well. They're using jumbo colored chalk to doodle.

On the other, I would also like to share my first ‘Mommy Moments’ photo. My friend Bambie always encouraged me to join this group. I’ve been wanting to join this group ever since she invited me but I’m just so hesitant cos I know I couldn’t keep up in the end but today Bambie’s convincing power finally worked This week’s MM theme is red.
