I took this photo after I watched the movie New Moon last month and before crossing the street. It was just a quick shot. Not a good night shot though cos my camera is not that good in taking night pictures. City of Chicago is bright with wonderful lights all over the street. It was taken after the day of the Chicago Lights Festival where it was held Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival marks the beginning of holiday shopping along North Michigan Avenue, a strip famous for its wide number of diverse stores and boutiques. Most shops will also have their holiday window displays in place, as well as extended shopping hours.
The Festival of Lights in Chicago along Michigan Avenue is a tradition dating back 50 years, but this was the 18th year that a parade has also been part of the festival. Chicago closes some roads during that event.
It was unfortunate for my kids cos they weren’t able to see this magnificent festive of this year. It’s hard to travel with 2 young kids just by yourself. My husband was working that day. It could be awesome for my kids to see the Mickey Mouse parade illuminating over 1 million lights. But it’s OK there’s always a next time :D
Happy MYM everyone!
